Who is Visit Hardangerfjord
Visit Hardangerfjord is the destination company for the Hardangerfjord region. They market Hardanger to visitors, press and tour operators, and work with the industry and the five municipalities in the region to develop a sustainable and attractive destination. In 2025 the region had 930,000 overnight stays, and the company brings the industry together at public meetings and at the annual Hardanger Next conference.
The brief: a site for the industry, not for tourists
Hardangerfjord.com speaks to travellers. The industry site speaks to the businesses: hotels, activity providers, transport operators and municipalities that are members or considering joining. The old site had grown over time and made it hard to find news, services and strategy documents. The goal was one clear entry point for the industry, in Nynorsk, with content that is easy for a small team to maintain.

What the new site contains
- News from the region: marketing in Asia and Europe, season forecasts, workforce surveys and reports from trade fairs such as NTW and The Nordic Marketplace.
- Services for members: social media, Google advertising, print, content production, advertising on Visit Hardangerfjord's own channels and B2B work towards the industry, press and operators.
- Tourism strategy for Hardanger: a shared direction for municipalities, businesses and local communities.
- Hardanger Next: the industry conference with its own presentation and registration.
- Key figures such as overnight stays, growth and participation, so the value of membership is easy to understand.
- Become a member as a clear call to action across the site.
How we worked
We started with a review of the existing site together with the Visit Hardangerfjord team in February 2026, and set up structure and design in Figma before building in Webflow. All content from the old site has been migrated and organised into collections for news, services and events. Technical SEO was set up from the start, and the site is built mobile first. The first complete draft was delivered in August, and the site is now being finalised with the client before launch.
Why it suits a destination company
A destination company publishes a lot: news, reports, campaigns and events. That means publishing has to be easy. In Webflow, all content lives in structured collections, so new posts get the right design and the right metadata automatically. It lets a small team keep the site alive without going through the agency.
We know the region well. We built the website for Trolltunga, which pulls attractions and content from Visit Hardangerfjord, and have produced ads for the Hardanger map. This industry site is a natural next step in the collaboration.
Frequently asked questions
What is an industry website?
A website aimed at the industry and partners of a destination company, as opposed to the consumer site aimed at travellers.
Can the site be built in Nynorsk?
Yes. We build content in the language the client uses, and can add more languages with Webflow Localization later.
When does the site launch?
Autumn 2026. We will update this post when the site is live.
